David Bonner died peacefully in the presence of his family on November 10, 2023, at the age of 86. He was born on March 8, 1937, in Ithaca, NY, the son of Harold Chapman Bonner and Helen Elizabeth (Moebius) Bonner. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jane Jackson, and by his children Aaron Bonner-Jackson (Kia Treier) and Kate Bonner-Jackson (Sagan Gray) and his sister Barbara Gately; his grandchildren Leio Treier-Jackson, Emelia Treier-Jackson and Sascha Quinn Bonner-Gray, and several nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by his parents and his sister Patricia McLaughlin.

David graduated from Monroe High School in Rochester, NY, and earned degrees from Princeton University (1959) and Harvard Business School (1965.) He served in the US Navy from 1959-1962. He founded Bontronics, a company in Somerville, MA that provided audiovisual rentals and design for boardrooms, classrooms, and restaurants for over 25 years. Bontronics also donated AV equipment for many community events and gatherings.

A man of peace, David was a staunch member of Veterans for Peace and a frequent presence at peace marches and vigils. He attended Friends Meeting at Cambridge for nearly 40 years. David loved to be out in nature, in his garden or on a golf course, in a canoe or in the woods. He loved this world in all its variety and beauty. He loved to dance and make music with friends; he took great joy in his children and grandchildren. He departed this life gracefully, surrounded by love.

Burial was private. A memorial service will be held at a future date at Friends Meeting in Cambridge.
