Milne, Helen A. (DeGere), born in Adams, MA July 5, 1921, died in Lexington, MA on October 20, 2014. Wife of the late John C. Milne. Daughter of Alfred and Yvonne (Johnson) DeGere. Graduated from Adams High School – Class of 1939. Received A.B degree from Smith College – 1943, and M.A. degree form Mt. Holyoke College, 1948. Received Certificate for Teachers of French at Sorbonne 1950. Taught French and History in Conn. Schools from 1943-1949; Worked at Dewey & Almy Chemical/ W.R. Grace from 1950-1957; Taught French at Silver Lake Regional High School , Kingston from 1957-1963; Became Director of Foreign Languages, Grades 3-12 in Needham, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday October 25 at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Saturday prior to Mass from 8:30am to 9:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Brigid Church, 2001 Mass. Ave. Lexington, MA 02421. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
