Henry B. Eden died on August 22, 2016 at Lahey Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 11, 1927 in West Roxbury MA, the son of Henry D. Eden and Dorothy (Gaughan).
While in high school Henry earned a scholarship to attend the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. Following his graduation from high school at age 18 he enlisted in the United States Army. He was deployed to the Philippines where he proudly served his country. When he completed military service, Henry returned to Boston where he attended MIT. In1968 Henry founded Anco Technical Services, an educational publishing firm.
While living in Norfolk, MA, he was active in town government and served as President of the Massachusetts Moderators Association. For many years he was a dedicated instructor of Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University. Following his retirement he enjoyed teaching part-time at Minuteman Tech Regional High school.
Henry is survived by his wife of34 years, Deborah Clinton-Eden: Children and their spouses: Mark and Claudia Eden of Norton, MA, Kimberley and Ken Patton of Plainville, MA, Bradford and JoAnn Eden of Monroe, ME, Christopher Eden and Huei Huang of North Bend, WA, and Peter and Joanne Eden of Walpole, NH. Grandchildren and spouses: Kaelyn and Brian Stieg, Lexi Eden and Jim Connolly, Liz Eden, Miles Eden, Griffin Eden, Atticus Eden, Dexter Eden, and Vivienne Eden. Great-granddaughter: Anneliese Stieg.
Henry will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. He had an endless sense of humor, a keen mind, and great wit. He enjoyed traveling adventures with Deborah, golf, reading, following New England sports, and gardening.
A service to celebrate Henry's life will be held at the Hancock United Church of Christ, 1912 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA on Saturday, September 24, at 2:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
