Henry J Tremblay of Salem, NH, 97 years of age, formerly of Windham, NH and Lexington, MA. Aug. 4, 2013. Loving husband of 65 years to M. Theresa (Fradette). Father of Janine Johns and her husband George of Morristown, NJ, and Paul Tremblay and his wife Carol, Denis Tremblay and his wife Katrina, and Monique Tremblay Burke and her husband Chris, all of Windham, NH. Brother of Albert Tremblay of Swampscott and Alfred "Buddy" Tremblay of Stoughton. Henry is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, and Liam.

Henry was a proud WWII U.S. Navy Veteran.  He served on and survived the sinking of the USS Hugh L. Scott transport, which was torpedoed by a German uboat in Fedala Bay off the coast of French Morocco on Nov. 12, 1942.  He also served aboard the USS Las Vegas Victory, an ammunition ship that supplied ammunition to battleships, cruisers, destroyers and aircraft carriers in the Pacific.  The ship saw much action in Kerama Retto and had several close encounters with kamikazes while the war raged on with Japan.

Following the war,  he started Minute Man Oil Sales of Lexington MA with his brother Albert which he retired from in the late 1980's.  He was a devoted father and such a positive force to just about everyone that he encountered.  He will be sorely missed.

Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Friday Aug. 9 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church, Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4pm to 8pm.
