"Bapa, you taught us that nothing is so strong as gentleness, and nothing is so gentle as true strength. We love you, Bapa."

On the 18th of March 2022 at 8.43 pm EST, our loving Bapa, Hirubhai Narsinhbhai Patel (son to the late Narsinhbhai Patel, born in Mota Vaghchhipa, Gujarat, resided

in Lexington, MA), found peace and left our world. His passing was caused by a blood clot from the heart that travelled through a vessel and blocked the entrance of this bowel, causing intestinal failure.

He was a strong husband to Savitaben Patel, devoted father to Bina, Mita, Ketan, adored father-in-law to Amit Kacha and Reena, and proud grandfather to Maya, Aiden, Gia and Dev.

Hirubhai, an immigrant to the US, left behind everything he knew to move to an unfamiliar country.  However, he was no stranger to hard work, which he did to ensure a better future for his children. His strong work ethic and the importance of family are among many values instilled in his children.  With a formal education that ended in the 6th grade he and his wife managed to achieve the American dream of purchasing a home and a business. From 1982-1994 he worked as an assembly worker for Jet Spray Corp. In 1996 he and his wife purchased a 42-room motel fulfilling their dream of becoming American entrepreneurs.  They ran the property together until their retirement in 2013, when they moved back to the East Coast to live with their son.

He lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by his friends and family, doing what he loved most, helping others. Whether it be cutting grass, painting your walls or giving you his honest opinion about your food. He would drop everything to help others. His grandchildren were his world and nothing gave him more joy than simply being in their presence.

Our family thanks everyone who took the time to speak and meet with him during his final stages, which gave him peace and courage to enter the final chapter of his life. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed, but his legacy will live on.
