Devoted mother of Christine Woodroff and her husband Jaime of North Reading, Betty Ann Reed and her husband Uli Klingbeil of Belmont, and Lydia Reed-Guertin and her husband Ken of Arlington. Dear sister of Aida Almeida of Rahway, NJ, and the late Elizabeth Almeida. Irene is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Mark, James, Abigail, Annierose, Daniel, Rebecca, and Alexander, by 3 great grandchildren, Jack, Luke, and Claire, and by many nieces and nephews. Life-time mentor to generations of pianists. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON Saturday Jan. 3 at 9am followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10am.
