Jacquelyn Ann Splaine (Jackie) passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026. Her beloved husband, Ed, had the opportunity to be by her side, hold her hand and comfort her before she passed, a fitting end to their sixty-five-year love story.

Married in 1963, Jackie and Ed built a beautiful life, raising three wonderful sons (Mark, Kevin, and Neal) in Lexington, Massachusetts. While there, they made lifelong friends and even more memories through hosting dinner parties, playing tennis and golf, and ski weekends. Jackie was not just the life of the party, she organized, cooked, decorated, and hosted the party, all with a smile on her face, and a demure, "Oh, it's nothing. Just a little get-together." Jackie made life look easy, always choosing the high road. She was passionate about the underdogs, choosing to believe that, despite the ups-and-downs life presents, one could squeeze lemonade out of lemons one-hundred percent of the time. She was an avid golfer, on the hunt to shoot her age even as she cheered on her favorite players on the PGA tour (especially Rory McIlroy!)

When not golfing or hosting luncheons, Jackie adored puzzles and crafts, even designing and leading craft classes at Nichols Village where she and Ed lived for the last several years. But her lifelong passion for the Red Sox, ignited early on by her father-in-law's employment with the franchise, was unmatched. As a child she had the opportunity to have lunch with her hero, Ted Williams, after writing a poem about him that was printed in the Patriot Ledger. Her excitement never dulled, even taking her three sons out of school for opening day each year. In addition to being a wonderful mother, Jackie thoroughly enjoyed working as a dental office manager, taking the staff and patients into her fiercely loyal fold.

When grandchildren entered her life, Jackie would drop everything to care for them, even calling to say she'd like to pick them up for the weekend so her boys could have free time with their wives. Between crabbing, building sandcastles, and playing Monopoly, Jackie and her seven grandchildren (Nick, Chris, Jake, Jesse, Maggie, Lizzie, and Max) spent literally countless hours at Singing Beach in Manchester, Massachusetts, where she and Ed moved in 1986. Her greatest joy was to return from the beach, the kids covered in sand, and have them play in the pool while she prepared dinner. And in 2024 she felt very fortunate to welcome her great-granddaughter, Charlotte.

Jackie was an avid lottery player, her luck manifesting itself as she beat the odds by repeatedly winning. But more important than money, she always put family first, truly believing she was the most fortunate person in the world because of her family and friends. She is smiling from above, smelling of Sung perfume and holding a glass of chilled chardonnay. She will be sorely missed, as she spread sunshine, cookies, and happiness everywhere she went. Always giving of herself and expecting nothing in return, her light shines on in a beautiful legacy of kindness, grace, and generosity.

Jackie is survived by her husband, Ed, her sons and their wives - Mark & Joyce of Mount Pleasant, SC, Kevin & Beth of Savannah, GA, and Neal & Jenny of Winchester, MA - as well as her grandchildren (Nick and his wife Lauren, Chris and his wife Clare, Jake and his wife Sarah, Jesse, Maggie, Lizzie, and Max) and great-grandchild (Charlotte Splaine). She is also survived by two of her four siblings, Roberta Fuller and Cheri Booth Kirkman.  Her two brothers, Clark Booth and Russell Booth, and her sister-in-law Ann Marie Splaine, predeceased her.

A memorial service for Jackie will be held at St. Brigid's Parish (2001 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA) at 10:30am on July 9, 2026 followed by interment of her ashes at Westview Cemetery (520 Bedford Street, Lexington, MA).
