Obituary

James Henry Schuler, 67, who resided at the Templeton Development Center, formerly of
Lexington MA passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Monday January 6th in
St Vincents Hospital Worcester after a month-long fight with pneumonia. Jamie was the
beloved son of Norman and Grace (Kirkland) Schuler. He is survived by his sister Barbara
Wilson of Brunswick ME, and his brothers Alan of Murfreesboro TN, and Gary of Sheldon IA.
Jamie was a 32 year resident of the Templeton community. During his early years at the
center Jamie worked as a painter's assistant and took great pride in learning the trade and
perfecting his skill. He was very proficient at painting windows and fine trim. On his
frequent family visits he was always looking for some painting project or oXering advise as
to how to solve a remodeling problem. Unfortunately, in 2014 he required cervical surgery
that greatly reduced his mobility and ended his ability to do manual labor.
Jamie enjoyed riding in his golf cart and doing crafts, particularly painting small items such
as jewelry boxes and bird houses. He will be remembered for his love of family and his
special relationship with his cousin Donna Abate.

A funeral Service will be held Saturday Jan. 18 at the First Baptist Church, 1580 Mass. Ave. Lexington at 10am. Visiting hours Friday at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 4pm to 7pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
