Jane (Lancaster) Carrigg

February 16, 1940- October 12, 2025

Jane Carrigg of Lexington died peacefully in her sleep from Alzheimer's disease on October 12, 2025.  Jane was the daughter of Daniel and Rita (Bell) Lancaster.  She grew up in Andover, Massachusetts where she attended parochial schools and went on to earn a degree from Lowell Teachers' College.  She worked as an elementary school teacher until the birth of her first daughter, Beth.  She raised her daughters in Lexington, Massachusetts where she was a member of St. Brigids Parish and cherished her home at 3 Brown Road.  After raising her daughters, she worked for many years at Hofmann Insurance Agency in Belmont.  She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, take care of her home, go for long walks, and meet either her daughter, sisters or best friend for shopping and lunch.  She loved to laugh and sing and was comforted by her strong catholic faith.  The last year and a half of her life she lived at Youville Place where she was a favorite of the staff because of her sweet, agreeable nature.  Special thanks to the staff at the Courtyard at Youville and to long-term caregivers, Nora Turchi and Mary Conneely who helped her to stay living in her beloved home as long as possible with her illness.  She is survived by her daughter, Julie Charrette, her four grandchildren: Sam Charrette, Regan, Ryan and Rachel Beers and her treasured lifelong "friendo," Maureen Thibodeau.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Beth Beers, and all her siblings: Anne DeNuccio, Rita Lancaster and James Lancaster.  She will be remembered in prayer at 9am on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 in the Chapel at Youville Place, Lexington with a reception of remembrance to follow and interment at St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover.
