Jane O'Connell's Obituary
Jane Elizabeth O'Connell (Hunt), of Bedford, passed away on July 26, 2018. She was born on September 19, 1935 to Amelia (Martin) and Phillip Hunt in Peterborough, NH. Jane was born into a large family which settled in the Brighton area. Jane graduated from St. Columbkille's High School. She was predeceased by her siblings Virginia, Phyllis, Priscilla, David, Kenneth and Norman. Her surviving siblings include Nancy Kivell and Cynthia Franks. Aunt Butch, as she was fondly referred to, will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Jane treasured the time spent with her family. She was married just short of fifty years to William H. O'Connell. Also surviving is her daughter Susan McDevitt (Kevin Gilllis) of Kennebunk, Maine, grandchildren Emma Bean (Christopher) and Ryan Church, great grandson Jackson Bean and daughter in law Audrey McDevitt. She was predeceased by her daughter Kathleen Legere and son Daniel McDevitt.She had a long career in the banking industry, holding the position of Vice President of the Guaranty First Trust Company. In her free time she enjoyed reading, traveling, golf, knitting and the time spent with her many friends. At her request services will be private for the immediate family only.
Arrangements have been made with the Douglas Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
