Janet Schachter of Lexington, Ma passed away January 8, 2026 at the age of 96.

She was born on April 1, 1929 in Deal NJ, the daughter of Mr. Edward Ogle and Florence Ogle (nee True).

Janet was a graduate of Asbury Park High school and was employed  as a Telephone Operator with New Jersey Bell prior to her marriage. She moved to Lexington MA in 1971 and retired to Palm Coast Florida in 1992.

Janet enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the Pine Lakes Bridge Club in Palm Coast Fl prior to her moving back to Lexington in 2019 . She enjoyed going to the beach and swimming in the ocean, going out for dinner and spending time with family and friends as often as she could.

Janet is survived by her daughters: Pamela Beatty and her husband Stephen, of Quincy Ma.,  Jo Ann Schachter and Brian Connelly of Lexington and Denise Anderson of Lexington, Ma, granddaughter Jennifer Willard and her Husband Abbott of  Lee NH and great granddaughter Adeline Willard.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday January 24 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington at 3pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Special Olympics or your favorite charity.
