Jeannette Weigand, 79, of Lexington, entered eternal life on January 19, 2023.  She is survived by Robert Weigand, her beloved husband of 59 years, her children Christine and her husband Paul, Daniel and his wife Dana, and Michael and his partner Kristina, as well as her grandchildren Christopher, Hannah, and Caroline.  She is also survived by her sister Barbara and her niece Marta, nephew Eric, and their families.

Robert was Jeannette's soulmate.  They shared a love of the outdoors, hiking, and adventure.  Their travels took them around the world to Switzerland, Germany, Canada, and many national parks in the United States where they found beauty and peace in nature.   Closer to home, they frequented Walden Pond and enjoyed daily walks in their neighborhood where they lived for over 50 years.

Jeannette had great love for her family.  She was a nurturing mother, with compassion and a gentle heart that always put others first.  Her words and actions reflected her deep Catholic faith.  She was a truly grateful person who embraced life and appreciated time spent with family and friends.  Memories of her will always serve as a guiding light for her children and grandchildren.

Jeannette worked as an administrative assistant at Lexington High School for many years.  She was an avid reader and loved classical music, opera, and the theater.  She also held a soft spot for all animals.

Calling Hours will be held at Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. in Lexington on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Parish, 16 Follen Rd. in Lexington on Saturday, February 11 at 11:00am.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
