Jill Suzanne
Hurley
d. Aug 7, 2026
Jill Suzanne Hurley of Lexington, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on Friday August 7, 2026. Jill was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Jill was born on October 12,1959, in Boston and was a lifelong resident of Lexington, a town whose history and character she cherished. Jill loved to walk around Lexington and she'd often return from a walk eager to report not just her mileage, but who she'd run into along the way. Jill loved her family immensely and was happiest when everyone gathered together over a great meal. As the middle sister of seven, Jill was the rock of our big, beautiful family. She did everything for everyone, always ready to help, always quick to forgive, and endlessly kind, the steady presence we could all count on.
Jill loved old movies, Thanksgiving, and was a devoted sports fan. She especially loved The Red Sox, World Cup Soccer, the New England Patriots, college football and tennis. Jill loved attending games at Fenway Park and singing along to "Sweet Caroline". Trips with her sisters to Patriots away games were some of her favorite times.
Jill had a 35-year career at The Westin Copley Place in Boston and was proud to be part of the hospitality industry. In 2015, she made the selfless decision to retire and devote herself fully to caring for her mother. She was a devoted caregiver until her mother's passing in 2025, a decade defined by quiet strength and unwavering love.
Jill was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Joseph Hurley, Jr and Marybeth O'Keefe Hurley, as well as her brothers, Drew Hurley and Arthur J Hurley III. Jill is survived by her siblings, Janne Clare, Matthew Hurley and his wife Joan Kellar, Marisa Hurley and her husband Michael McSweeny, and Lara Hurley; and sisters-in-law Mary Drozda and Christine Fazzone. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Alexander Clare and his wife Andrea, Casey Hurley, Olivia McSweeny, and Lucas McSweeny. Jill also recently became a great aunt to Vivienne Clare.
Visiting hours will be on Monday August 17, 2026, at 10am, followed by funeral services at 11am, both at Douglass Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
