Andrellos, Joanne (Vernon) a long-time resident of Lexington since 1968, passed away on June 14, 2023 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late James C. Andrellos. Loving mother of Jack Andrellos and his wife Monica of North Reading, Pamela Kellogg and her husband Michael of North Reading, and Brad Edelman of New Orleans, LA,. Devoted sister of Marie Panos of Andover, Irene Vernon of Manchester, NH, and Richard Vernon of New York, NY. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Joanna, Sage, and Demitrius.

Joanne was born on May 2, 1937 in Clinton, Massachusetts to the late Gerald and Marie Vernon, was raised in Cambridge and Belmont. She graduated high school in 1954 and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Boston University in 1958, majoring in both in English and Business Administration. Shortly after graduating, she was offered professional modeling jobs and became an elite fashion model for the John Robert Powers Agency in Boston. At the same time, she accepted an executive position with National Research and Development in Cambridge, then later became corporate administrator for the Keystone Funds in Boston where she became seriously enticed with the stock market and investment vehicles. Joanne was also widely regarded as an accomplished writer and enthusiastically edited family and friends requests whenever needed. She was an avid sports woman finding particular delight with tennis, aerobics, and exercise classes.

In 1961, Joanne met and married James C Andrellos, an MIT & Brown Nuclear Physicist, who predeceased her in 2002 suffering many years with Parkinson's disease. Joanne passionately cared for and nursed her husband for over 15 years.

In 1969, Joanne and her family moved to Lexington where, over the years, she became the recipient of numerous awards and accolades as a highly respected Real Estate Broker in and around the Lexington community for over 40 years. Her warm, compassionate spirit, and penchant for helping others led her to establish and become Founder and President of Lexington Properties Unlimited to the delight of all her clients and friends. Shortly thereafter, her son, Jack, proudly joined her and flourished on his own… She was forced to sell her company to care for her husband then joined other firms and remained in Real Estate for many more years until she retired and devoted her later years to managing her stock market portfolio.

Joanne was best known for her authentic magnetism, who loved her family and each of her friends more than herself. She had a love for music and treasured every opportunity to sing with her sisters who harmonized all the melodies they so enjoyed.

She regarded the greatest joy and privilege of her life to be the mother of her three children, and was fiercely devoted to them, her grandchildren, and to her nieces and nephews. Joanne will always be remembered as warm, kind, and loving with a vibrant personality who will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

The Funeral Service will be held Monday June 19 at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Lexington. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am-11 am, immediately followed by the funeral service at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
