Jody Rae Eggers was born February 9, 1959 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
She passed at the age of 66 on September 23, 2025 in Lexington,
Massachusetts where she lived with her sister Sherry Eggers. Jody was
preceded in death by her father Maurice Edmon "Shady" Eggers by her
mother, Patricia Jean Eggers (Wortman) , and by her brother Larry Wayne
Eggers. She has three sisters, Linda Dunlap of Greenville, Indiana, Sherry
Eggers of Lexington, MA, and Tina Lucas of Indianapolis, IN. She leaves
behind one nephew, seven nieces, eight great nephews, and six
great-nieces.
Jody graduated from Thomas Carr Howe High School in 1977 and
attended Indiana University in Indianapolis. She worked in several nursing
homes in Indiana: Brookview Manor as as Activities Director, Social
Services Designee and Admissions Coordinator; American Village Nursing
Home as Medical Records Director; and at Cardinal Healthcare in Medical
Records and Quality Control.
In 1989 Jody began a career working for the Indianapolis Public Schools as
School Secretary at Schools #70, #98 and #82. Later, in the central
administration of IPS, she worked as the Executive Secretary for two
different Regional Directors.
In 2006, Jody moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she resided for many
years. She worked as Administrative Case Manager at Summerlin Hospital
and then at Sunrise Hospital and Desert Springs Hospital. She was
preceded in death by her partner there, Dan Franchi in 2016.
Jody worked most recently for the state of Wisconsin from 2017-2019 in
Madison, Wisconsin. She then moved to Walnut Creek, California from
2019 to 2021, moving to Lexington Massachusetts in 2019 with her sister
Sherry where she lived until her death.
Jody is dearly loved by all her family and friends. She will be remembered
and missed by all who treasured her positive personality and remarkable
talents. She gave of herself to others, helping out everyone. She was
admired and respected by bosses, co-workers, relatives, friends, and
neighbors. She made the world a better place.
