Father of Micah Sheveloff and his wife Beth Lurie of Orange, CT, and Eva L. Sheveloff and her partner James A. Jenkins of Burlington. Brother of Harriet Brinen of Stanford, CT. Joel is also survived by a granddaughter, Ilana R. Sheveloff. Devoted Professor of Musicology at Boston University for 46 years. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the John Devario Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Joel Sheveloff.
