Hannah Mollo-Christensen, a longtime resident of Lexington, MA, died in Winchester on Thursday, January 28, 2016. She was 92 years old. Her death was sudden and peaceful. She had been healthy and actively engaged with her family until the very end.

Hannah was born in 1924 to Jacob Marinus Waller, a Dutch businessman, and Caroline Schoverling Waller, originally from Connecticut. She grew up in Holland, where, as a young adult, she survived the starvation and hardships of the Nazi occupation. Hannah and her family immigrated to the United States after the war, settling in New England. It was in Cambridge, MA where she met and married Erik Mollo-Christensen, a Norwegian born student who went on to become a longtime MIT professor as well as the Chief, Laboratory for Oceans at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center. Dr. Mollo-Christensen died in 2009.

A 58 year resident of Five Fields in Lexington, Hannah will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, involved citizen and good friend to many. She was very active in the League of Woman Voters, volunteered at Mt Auburn Hospital, and was a founding member of the Citizens Committee for the Lexington Public Schools.

Hannah is survived by her three children, Erik Mollo-Christensen of Sudbury, MA, Peter Mollo-Christensen of Boxborough, MA, and Anne Mollo-Christensen of Chicago, IL and their spouses, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, her sister Oda Hubbard of Shelburne, VT, along with many nieces and nephews.
