John “Jack” Callahan of Lexington passed away on September 20 at age 83. Jack was a devoted husband, father, and “Papa” to five grandchildren. Known for his quick wit, he was a company owner and dedicated salesman who enjoyed hockey and golf. He played hockey at Watertown High school and shared his love of the game with his son, Jimmy, far beyond their time on the ice. He was very close with his daughter, Kaitlin, and loved spending time with her and his grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen. He is survived by Jimmy and his wife, Rachel; Kaitlin and her husband, James O’Neil; his grandchildren, Avery, Austin, Mary, John, and Bridget; his sister, Joan Warnock, and her husband, Bobby; his brothers, Paul and his wife, Pam, David and his wife, Chris, and brother Donald; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visiting hours will be held at Douglass Funeral Home in Lexington on Monday, September 28, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, September 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church in Waltham, followed by burial at Westview Cemetery in Bedford.
