John 'Jack' Michael Foley of Bedford passed away at his home on August 10, 2022 after a yearlong battle with glioblastoma.

Jack is survived by his wife Cheri (Mehigan) and daughter Georgia (12) of Bedford and daughters Kate (24) and Caroline (22) and their mother Kristin of Yardley, Pennsylvania.

Raised in Canton, with close ties to West Dennis, Jack was the son of the late Beverly and Gerald Foley and brother of Elizabeth (Carracini) of Belmont and Peter and wife Lauren Foley of Marshfield. "Uncle John" or "Jack" to 11 nieces and nephews across Massachusetts.

Jack, an exceptional student, graduated Boston College High School in 1990. He went on to Boston College and earned a B.S. in Accounting from the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management. Fueled by love for his country, Jack joined the Army ROTC and developed friendships that would last a lifetime.

Following graduation from Boston College, Jack was commissioned and served as an Army Intelligence Officer at Fort Huachuca, Arizona and in various echelons of the 4 ^th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas. He is a graduate of the Military Intelligence Officer Basic Training and a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Parachutist Badge.

Jack was co-founder of the brand strategy firm Ovus & Ater. A consummate entrepreneur, he was constantly learning and working to better himself. He loved collaborating with educators and was passionate about repositioning and transforming schools. He developed deep and lasting relationships with his clients that evolved into close friendships through the years.

A prolific communicator with a wicked sense of humor, you always knew exactly where you stood with Jack Foley. His sarcasm could be cutting at times, but it was always honest. He was passionate about travel, but only when specific requirements were met (preferred airplane seating and adequate hotel square footage). The man knew what he liked and didn't like, and everyone around him knew it too.

A voracious reader and lover of politics and current events, he did not miss a beat on the 24-hour news cycle.

Jack was passionate about film, television, and all things Hollywood. He loved going to movies from the time he was a child. Sneaking away to go to the movies with his mom were some of his fondest childhood memories. A true film critic à la Siskel and Ebert, he took his role of at-home "entertainment director" very seriously, and selected movies and television shows only after careful consideration of all reviews.

Visitation will be held at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington, MA on Tuesday, August 16th from 4pm to 7pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022, at 11am, St. Michael Church, 90 Concord Road, Bedford, MA.

Jack was known for an overall lack of patience. We have no patience for GBM and the suffering it causes patients and families. We need a cure.
