ROMMELFANGER, John Mortimer 81, of Lexington, MA, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017. John was born April 22, 1936, in North Adams, Massachusetts to Fabian and Rita Rommelfanger. He leaves his wife of 42 years, Barbara Rommelfanger, daughters Suzanne and Meredith, son-in-law Brendan Fenn, and grandson Asher. John joined the U.S. Navy , and spent four years on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger cruising around the world. He then enrolled at UMass Amherst, graduating with an Engineering degree. John had a gregarious personality and sense of humor, enjoyed connecting with people, and had a passion for sailing and jazz. Most of all, he loved his family and friends, and will be missed by us all.

Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 29 at Sacred Heart Church, 16 Follen Rd, Lexington, MA, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to the Alzheimer's Association .
