Obituary

McKinney, Joseph F. a life long Lexington resident, September 19, 2021. Former husband of Betsy (Hooper) Goss. Loving father of Wendy Ponte of Brunswick, ME, Nancy McKinney Hilmy of Lexington, and Beth Cook Farrell of Lexington. Grandfather of Brandon, Ryan, Daniel, Jessica, and the late Jason and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy (Hooper) Penley and loving nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his parents, James and Laura McKinney and brothers James (Jimmy) and John (Jack) McKinney.

Joe was a lineman for Boston Edison for 43 years which he loved and made many good friends. He always stayed busy with his projects including the cars and boat, and loved to problem solve which made him a constant source of information and help for his neighbors, family and friends. He had a walk-in anytime policy and the house had a constant flow for anyone who could depend on his home cooking, patient listening and wise advice. His memory and wit were razor sharp and his stories were wonderful. He will be dearly missed.

Calling Hours will be held Tuesday October 5 th at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 4pm to 7:30pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A celebration of his life will also be held at a later date, to be announced. Donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. Private interment at Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
