STEINKRAUSS, Joseph C. of Lexington and Pocasset, Massachusetts, beloved husband of the late and great, Donna E. Steinkrauss; loving father of Eric J. Steinkrauss, of Lexington, Kristin E. Blount, of Cambridge, Lisa J. O'Sullivan, of Arlington, Julie A. Fuhrer, of Lexington, Peter M. Steinkrauss, of Acton, Kurt R. Steinkrauss, of Needham. Devoted grandfather to 15 loving grandchildren. Brother of Mark Steinkrauss and sister of Judy Steinkrauss.

Joe grew up in Brighton, Massachusetts. He graduated from BC High in 1956 and Boston College in 1960. He attended the Naval Officer Candidate School and served in the US Navy for over 25 years, retiring as a Captain. Joe attended Suffolk University Law School and earned a law degree in 1968. Joe was the Corporate General Counsel at Converse Inc. for many years and then opened his own law practice where he served the Lexington community for 30 years.

Joe met the love of his life and wife, Donna, in 1956 at Boston College and was married in 1961. Joe and Donna were happily married for 51 years. They shared many happy memories with family and friends at their homes in Lexington and Pocasset. He loved Cape Cod and golf. A passionate piano player, Joe loved to entertain family and friends, especially around the Christmas holiday season. Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Joe was predeceased by his wife, Donna, his parents, Joseph and Mary and his brother Phillip.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, November 14, 4-8 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, LEXINGTON. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 16 Follen Road, Lexington, at 10 am on Thursday, November 15. The family will be greeting friends and relatives in the parish hall immediately following the Mass. Interment will follow at National Cemetery, Connery Ave., Bourne, MA at 2:30 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made, in honor of Joseph, to the Alzheimer's Association Of MA, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
