Obituary

Freeman, Juanita A. (Lowe) of Bedford, formerly of Lexington, January 12, 2018. Wife of the late Lawrence D. Freeman. Mother of Linda A. Freeman-Friend and her husband James of Pepperell, and the late Robert Freeman. Juanita is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Heather Francoeur and her husband Michael, and Jeremiah Friend and his wife Lindsay, and by many nieces and nephews. She was raised in Mississippi and always retained her southern charm and humor. She was Cadet Nurse in WWII where she met her husband while they were both stationed in Washington D.C.. She worked most of her life as a Surgical Nurse, finishing her career at Winchester Hospital.  She was a dedicated member of Hancock Church, and served the church in multiple capacities. She was world-wide traveler and enjoyed many trips to Europe with her husband, friends, daughter and grand children. She loved to camp, and spent many summers camping with her children and continued this tradition with her grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday Jan. 17 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 5pm to 7pm, and a Funeral Service will be celebrated Thursday Jan. 18 at Hancock Church, 1912 Mass. Ave. Lexington at 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
