Judith Chin Su of Lexington passed peacefully after a long battle fighting colon cancer, on January 14th, 2019, while surrounded by her loving family. Judy was true to herself and believed in being authentic and genuine. If she did not agree with how things were being done or how people were being treated, she would voice her opinions and concerns.

She was always compassionate about what she did. For over the last thirty years she worked to serve the underprivileged Asian-American population in the greater Boston area. During her last fifteen years at South Cove Community Health Center, she helped start, manage and operate a mammogram screening clinic. This screening clinic has grown to benefit thousands of patients each year.

Judy was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. She graduated from Classical High and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Rhode Island College. She later worked at Rhode Island Hospital before coming up to Boston to earn her Masters degree as a Nurse Practitioner.

Her husband of twenty-eight years, Joseph, was supportive every step of the way.

She is loved dearly by her daughters, Amanda and Madison. Amanda is working towards her doctorate (Ph.D) degree in Molecular Cell Biology at the University of California-Berkeley. Madison is working towards her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. She will also be dearly missed by her faithful Shiba Inu, Maypo.

Beloved daughter of Susan Eng Chin and the late Sam Ark Chin. Sister to four brothers: Rickie Chin and his wife Judy of Cranston, RI; Nickie Chin of Warwick, RI; Stanley Chin and wife Karen of Ellicott City, MD and finally John Chin of Cranston, RI. Judy is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and their children.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 19th at Hancock United Church of Christ, 1912 Massachusetts Ave. in Lexington at 4:00 pm . All relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the service. Interment will be conducted privately at Westview Cemetery in Lexington.
