Basile, June (Palmer) peacefully passed away on February 12, 2016 at the age of 93. The wife of the late Joseph Basile, they had lived in Lexington for over 60 years. She was the daughter of the late William and Jennie Palmer. She is survived by her children, Joseph of New Caanan Conn. and his wife Cynthia, and her daughter Janice Whittemore and her husband Edwin of Lexington, as well as her grandchildren Kimberly Harris of Acton MA, Katherine Collin and her husband Fraser of Lexington, Teddy Whittemore of Cambridge, and Corban Basile of New Caanan Conn. They will miss her caring ways and have many fond memories of the days at the lake in Wolfeboro, NH, her beautiful garden, her wonderful cooking and her lovely watercolor paintings. She is also survived by her four great-grandchildren, James, Maisie and Micaela Collin, and Ava Harris and her sister Barbara Quinn.
Mrs. Basile worked at the Lexington Minuteman Newspaper for many years and was active in the Lexington Field and Garden Club. A graveside service will be held Friday March 18 at Westview Cemetery, 520 Bedford St. in Lexington at 1:00pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
