Obituary

Kathryn M. Grace (O'Brien) formerly of Lexington, died peacefully on October 17, 2026.

Kathy was born on May 24, 1949 in New York City to the late Edward M. O’Brien and late Catherine O’Brien. Their only daughter, she always looked up to her big brothers, Edward O’Brien, Thomas O’Brien and the late John O’Brien. Kathy was a proud graduate from Cardinal Spellman High School and Cochran School of Nursing. For over 35 years, she devoted her life to caring for others as a dedicated registered nurse. Her career was defined by an exceptional level of patient care, marked by genuine empathy, dignity, and excellence.

Beyond her career, Kathy’s greatest joy was being a mom to Brianne Carpenter (Daniel) of South Williamsport, PA and Siobhan Wiatr (Jason) of Pepperell, MA. She enjoyed every swim meet, concert and school event. She never missed an opportunity to support her daughters or tell them how proud she was of them. Kathy is also survived by her grandchildren, Brendan (17), Molly (11), Lucas (10), and Hailey (7). She is predeceased by her former husband, William Grace.

Kathy was a lifelong Yankee fan and an avid reader of mystery novels. She loved playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, baking, and completing crossword puzzles; and she was always happiest with the comforting melodies of the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel or Broadway tunes playing in the background.
