McClain, Kay T.  (Ferguson) of Lexington, formerly of Arlington, November 5, 2018. Beloved wife of John David McClain. Mother of John W.F. McClain and his wife Jennifer of Lexington. Sister of Thomas John "TJ" Ferguson and his wife Barbara Mills of Tucson, AZ, and the late Sue Yates. Kay is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Sabrina and Natalie.

The world has lost a very special person. Kay was a loving wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. She was also an exceptional nurse, leader, quilter and artist. She was a caregiver in the kindest meaning of the term. When someone needed something, Kay was there, whether it was making a quilt for a special occasion, driving a friend to chemo treatments, or sewing feminine hygiene products for girls in underdeveloped countries so they could continue their education. She had an unparalleled generosity.

Visiting hours will be held Friday November 9 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington from 4pm to 7pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. A memorial service is planned for a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to Days for Girls at www.daysforgirls.org . Interment private.
