Benson, Larry Dean of Lexington, Feb. 16, 2015. Husband of the late Margaret (Owens) Benson. Father of Cassandra Benson and her partner Mary-Alice Wells of Provincetown, MA, Amanda Benson of Brentwood, TN, Geoffrey Benson and his wife Nancy of Hampstead, NH, and the late Gavin Benson and his surviving wife Cindy of Londonderry, NH. Larry is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Jack, Owens, Eliot, Nicholas, Ryan, Riley, Samantha, Jacquelyn, Jessalyn, and Rachel, and by 1 great grandchild, Paxton. Larry Dean was a U.S. Marine Veteran, Korea. He received his Doctorate and became Professor of Medieval Literature at Harvard University for the next 45 years. He authored 21 books including King Arthur's Death. Larry enjoyed sabbaticals in Italy and summers at Lake Winnepesaukee sailing and relaxing with family. A funeral service will be held Saturday Feb. 21 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 929 Concord Turnpike in Arlington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
