Obituary

ARCH, Lawrence Burnap Feb. 22, 2014, of Peabody, formerly of Lexington, born Feb. 24, 1917, graduated from Newton High School and attended Northeastern University and Williams College School of Banking. Served in WWII from 1942-1945, honorably discharged as a Staff Sgt. with several awards and commendations. Married Ruth Clarke Beach on Jan. 6, 1946 in Lexington and lived there for almost 40 years. Retired from State Street Bank after 35 years of service and subsequently from Arnold Industries in Canton after 20 years of service. For many years Lawrence was active as official scorer of Little League and Minuteman League Baseball. He served as a collector for Hancock Church, was a Master Mason in the Simon W. Robinson Lodge, served on the advisory board for the Rainbow Girls and was active in Pilgrim Church, Kiwanis, and the Bosox Club in Boston. He is survived by his son Sherrard and his his wife Marianne, daughter Deborah, grandson Eric and his long time girlfriend Natalie and grandson Scott and his wife Susan, and great grandchildren Mason and Lily Arch. Funeral services will be held at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, on Tues., Feb. 25th at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to the service from 10am-12 noon. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Jimmy Fund, www.jimmyfund.org. Interment Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
