McCabe, Leo P., 88, of Mashpee, formerly of Lexington and Cambridge, lost his battle with Parkinson disease on December 22, 2015. He shared his life as the devoted husband of Patricia (MacDonald) McCabe for over 60 years, whom he loved since their first dance. Caring father of seven children, Leslie Myatt and her husband Larry of Sharon, Janet Athens and her husband George of Lexington, Christopher McCabe and his wife Maryellen of Portola Valley, CA, Gail McCabe and her husband Tim Birmingham or Arlington, Jennifer McCabe and her former husband Robert Taggart of Bedford, Kara McCabe and her husband Andrew LeBlanc of Arlington, VA, and the late Carolyn McCabe of Lexington. Brother of Charles McCabe of West Yarmouth, Peggy Driscoll of Lexington, Anna St. George of Punta Gorda, FL, Helen Norwood of Vero Beach, FL and the late Robert McCabe of Maynard. Leo is also survived by 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Leo grew up in East Cambridge, graduated from Cambridge Rindge Tech and then Northeastern University in 1965. He worked at Martinson's Coffee for over 40 years, raised his family in Lexington, and then retired to Mashpee. Leo was happiest spending time with his family, playing tennis with his friends, reading the Irish sports pages, telling jokes, walking his dogs, and talking with everyone he met along the way. Leo was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and the Korean War. Funeral services will be held at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., Lexington, Monday Dec. 28 at 9 am followed by a celebration Leo's life at a Mass of Christian burial at St. Brigid Church, Lexington at 10 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday from 4 pm to 7 pm at Douglass Funeral Home. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
