SWEENEY, Lillian V. (Moniz) Of Woburn, formerly of Arlington, December 12, 2010. Esteemed daughter of the late Hortense and Joseph Moniz. Dearly beloved wife of the late John J. Sweeney for 50 years. Mother of their 2 sons, Douglas J. Sweeney and his wife Margaret of Burlington and Bryan J. Sweeney of Woburn. Devoted sister of Mary I. Moniz of Burlington. Grandmother of Michael and Ashley Sweeney. In her youth Lillian organized and successfully maintainted her father's grocery business for 10 years. After her father's death in 1955 she was employed at E.R. Squibb's Pharmaceutical Division in Cambridge, where she met her husband John. They married and maintained a loving, harmonious relationship throughout 50 years together. Prior to her retirement Lillian worked for the town of Lexington where she was responsible for all mailroom related processing activities and also controlled all switchboard circuit connections for incoming calls which averaged approximately 700 calls per day. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, Thursday December 16 at 8a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church Arlington at 9 a.m. Relatives & friends are kindly invited to attend.
