Obituary

COOPER, Louise (Ferguson) Of Lexington died March 31 at the age of 86 after a brief illness. Beloved wife of the late Dr. William E. Cooper. Daughter of the late John and Gladys (Spaulding) Ferguson. Received bachelor's degrees from Oregon State University and Fitchburg State College. Worked as a special education teacher and as a bookkeeper, but most especially as a devoted and loving wife and mother and as a dedicated volunteer. Was a mother to many in addition to her own children, including five foster children. Predeceased by son Glenn Cooper. Survived by son Keith Cooper and his wife Lynn of Tacoma, Washington; daughters Margaret (Meg) Cooper of Carrollton, GA, Joyce Lush and her husband George of Thomaston, CT, Carol Hulton and her husband Peter of Marion, MA; grandchildren Bethany, Melissa, Jessica, Andrew, Christopher, and Gregory; brother John Ferguson and his wife Myrna of Richardson, TX; nieces Linda and Susan; and exchange-student daughter and grandchild, Tessa Murray and Michelle of South Africa. A family celebration of her life will be scheduled at a future date. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Arc of Massachusetts, 217 South St, Waltham, MA 02453.
