We have lost a loving mother, a born and natural teacher, and a devoted disciple of faith.

Margaret lived a life grounded by her faith and complete devotion to her family and friends. She was born Margaret Mary Reis on Nantucket on August 17, 1927. After graduation from Nantucket High School (class of 1945) she moved to Cambridge to pursue a college education and a career in teaching. Margaret fulfilled that ambition, earning her BA from Boston College in 1958 and her Masters degree in Education from State Teachers College, Boston, in 1959. She met her husband, Charles F. McCormick, Jr., in 1964.  They were married in April of 1966.  Margaret and Charles started their family life together in Lexington, MA, where she lived for nearly 50 years. Margaret leaves her two sons and their families: Margaret's older son, Charles, of Madison, NJ his wife Tina and their three daughters Grace, Lexi, and Casey; Margaret's younger son, Myles, of Natick, his wife Alison and their daughter Kailey. Margaret also leaves her brother's (Myles M. Reis, Sr.) family on Nantucket, including her loving sister-in-law Priscilla L. Reis, as well as her adored niece Marsha Kotalac and nephew Myles M. Reis, Jr.  Margaret's family included the love and family time spent with her extended family, including her cousin Hugh Lennon and his wife Jan, as well as the Hon. Elaine Moriarty. Margaret leaves the friendship of many from the Sacred Heart & St. Brigid's Parish of Lexington, as well as neighbors and friends she made throughout her life. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, January 2 ^nd at Sacred Heart Church, 16 Follen Rd. Lexington at 10AM. Visitation at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Saturday, immediately prior to the Mass, from 9am to 9:45am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
