Adley, Marguerite F. (Garten), of Lexington and West Dennis passed away on November 16, 2021. Her husband E. Myles Adley predeceased her in 1988.

Marguerite was born on March 12, 1926 to the late Henry and Helen Garten. Born in South Boston, her family moved to Lexington, where she proudly remained for 70 years.  She married E. Myles Adley in 1946, and raised her own family in town.

She leaves her daughter, Kathleen Burns (Thomas) of Lexington and West Dennis, daughter in law, Ann Adley (Brian) of Lexington and sons Kevin, Stephen and Sean. Marguerite also leaves her thirteen grandchildren, Bridget, Myles, Sheridan, Keaghan, Rhett, Brice, Rykelle, and Dennahe; Sean, Christian, Patrick, Brandt and Maia.

She leaves her sisters, Mary Miller (David) of Florida and Constance Delmonte (David) of New Jersey.

In addition to her loving husband, Myles, she was predeceased by her youngest son, Brian, and her three brothers, Hank, Jim and Paul.

For 35 years, Marguerite was employed by the United States Air Force in several capacities. She retired at age 80 from the Small Business Corporation at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, after having proudly received the Secretary of the Year Award for the North Suburban League Chamber of Commerce.

Throughout the years, Marguerite was extremely involved in many activities and received several honors. She was an active member and volunteer at the Castle Island Association for many years.

Marguerite and Myles enjoyed memorable family times at their Cape home in West Dennis. Some of her many interests included quilting, knitting, choral groups, and reading. Her love of travel took her to Ireland, England, Italy, and various cruises to Alaska, Mexico and the Caribbean. Her greatest love interests were her thirteen grandchildren.

Family and friends will honor and remember Marguerite's life by gathering for calling hours at the Douglass Funeral Home in Lexington on Thursday  November 18 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In compliance with Covid protocols, the family is asking attendees to wear a mask. Her funeral will be celebrated with a Mass on Friday November 19 at 10:00 St. Brigid's Church Lexington.

Burial will be private.
