Obituary

Alder, Maria Teresa (Ciniceros) of Lexington, May 20, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Charles E. Alder. Loving mother of Maria D. Johnson and her husband Scott of Peterborough, NH, Cecilia M. Alder of Bedford, and Isabel Alder of Lexington. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Alanna, Holly, Elise, Julia, and Sarah, and by 3 great grandchildren, Bryce, Winslow, and Briley.

Teresa was born in Madrid, Spain where she met her husband Charles, an American Air Force military officer. After a transfer to the United States with their young family, they moved several times before settling in Lexington, Massachusetts.
Teresa enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother first and was always social, vibrant, and loved sharing her pride and joy of the Castilian culture.  She was also known for her amazing cooking skills.  She enjoyed teaching her knowledge of cooking the foods of Spain and very much loved cooking for friends and family.

During her lifetime she worked zealously as a homemaker, and enjoyed being a caregiver and a nanny for many years. She had a natural ability to put a big smile on the faces of babies and children she adored caring for so much.  She was honored to continue lifelong friendships with those families.

She has truly left a beautiful legacy of love, laughter and resilience and will be remembered forever for her grace, elegance and wisdom…

A Graveside Service will be held at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. at a future date. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org).
