Obituary

Bochnak, Marilyn (Brissette), a long time resident of Sherborn, MA, died on February 18, 2022. Marilyn was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Giorgio) Brissette. She was raised in Watertown, MA and was a graduate of Watertown High School. She earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education at West Virginia University. Marilyn loved her profession as an elementary school teacher. After retiring from teaching, she worked at her son, Dr. Stephen P. Bochnak's optometry practice, Kenmore Optical, for many years. Marilyn found joy throughout her life in sewing, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She was predeceased by her son Dr. Stephen P. Bochnak, her brother James A. Brissette, and her parents James and Mary Brissette.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Peter M. Bochnak of Sherborn, MA and her daughter, Susan E. Bochnak of Sherborn, MA. She is also survived by her four sisters Lorraine Fournier and late husband John of Lexington, MA, Dianne Brissette of Medway, MA, Mary LaVoie and husband John of Sandwich, MA, and Susan Waluck and husband Bruce of West Barnstable, MA; brother Ronald Brissette and wife Laurie of Nottingham, NH; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday, February 23 at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., Lexington, from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass at St. Brigid Church, 1981 Mass. Ave., Lexington, on Thursday, February 24 at 10am (procession from the Funeral Home at 9am). Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment at Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
