It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Riedy Claise, a beloved mother, friend, and cherished member of the community. Marilyn passed away from melanoma on February 15, 2025 at the age of 76, surrounded by her loving family at their family home in Lexington, Massachusetts.
Marilyn was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. She was known for her intelligence, wit, and unwavering love and support for her friends and family.
Marilyn had a passion for bridge, traveling, and cooking—activities that brought her both joy and connection with others. The strong friendships she developed and maintained throughout her life were a key aspect of who she was as a person and a testament to her character. Whether exploring new destinations, hosting dinner parties, or preparing meals for loved ones, she embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.
A devout Catholic, Marilyn was an active member of St. Brigid Parish in Lexington. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, shaping her values and inspiring her commitment to helping those in need.
She is survived by her husband Ronald; her children Brian, Peter, Matthew and Elizabeth; her grandchildren Arian, Cyrus, Soren, Wally, Nelson, Benjamin, and Vivian, her brother Allen Riedy; and her sister Nancy Riedy. She was predeceased by her brother John Riedy.
Family and friends are invited to honor Marilyn's life at a wake on Wednesday February 19, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington, MA 02421. A funeral Mass Of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Brigid Parish, 2001 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington, MA 02421. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Interment will be private.
Marilyn's kindness, humor, laughter, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who mourn her passing.
