FITZMAURICE, Marilyn (Coiley) Age 89, of Woburn (formerly of Lexington) passed away on January 1, 2024.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Fitzmaurice.  She leaves behind her three children; Kathleen Fitzmaurice of Woburn, Robert Fitzmaurice Jr. of Nashua, NH and Michael Fitzmaurice of Bedford.

Marilyn graduated from Arlington High School in 1953.  Upon graduating from Arlington High, she went to work at the Riverside Press in Cambridge where she met her husband of 48 years.  In 1960, they moved to Lexington, raised their family and made many life-long neighborhood friends.

Marilyn had various part-time jobs.  She worked in the Estabrook School cafeteria when her children were young and later for a small electronics firm and a locally owned flower shop.  Later in life she worked as a caring companion and home aid for several of Lexington's senior residents.

Marilyn maintained a life-long friendship with her classmates from Arlington.  Affectionately known as the "club girls" and later as the "golden girls", she enjoyed their enduring friendship and the many lunches, dinners, outings and trips they all shared together.  Marilyn and Bobby especially enjoyed their time in Siesta Key as snowbirds with Phyllis and Stan.

While still living in the family home, Marilyn enjoyed tending to her perennial gardens and caring for her two cats Lucy and Lulu.

In 2021, she moved to the vibrant senior living community of Country Club Heights in Woburn.  She enjoyed participating in the many daily activities and made some wonderful new friends.  The family is grateful to the residents and staff for their kindness, compassion and the care she received during her final days.

Marilyn is predeceased by her mother Helen G. Coiley of Cambridge, her brother Ralph Coiley of Arlington and two sisters; Helen Nadeau of Cambridge and Marjorie Wing of Huntington Beach, California.

At the request of the family, services will be private.  In lieu of flowers and for those who wish to make a donation, the family requests that donations be made to the Pine Street Inn.
