Obituary

Hutchinson, Marilyn J. 89 of Greenville, SC known to her family as "Auntie", passed away Tuesday , December 2, 2014. She was born on October 16, 1925 to the late Katherine Tucker Poor and was the Step Daughter of the late Edwin M. Poor.
Marilyn worked as a secretary at the Engineering firm of Charles T. Main, Inc for 41 years, retiring in 1990 and moving to Venice, FL.
Marilyn loved music. She attended and studied voice at the New England Conservatory of Music. She sang as a soprano with both the Handel and Haydn Society and the Cecilia Society. She loved sacred music and sang in church choirs as a soloist for the College Avenue Methodist Church, Lexington Congregational Church, Lexington's Grace Chapel, and her churches in Florida.
She was an active member at Grace Chapel where she worshipped for almost 20 years and later at the Colonial Baptist Church in Venice, FL. She participated in many activities including singing with the choir, teaching Sunday school, and counselling with other members.
Marilyn is survived by her sister, Barbara E. Guilmartin of Lexington, her 3 nephews, Warren C. Guilmartin of Greenville, SC, Lawrence E. Guilmartin of Groton, Ma, and Russell C. Guilmartin of Kennebunk, Maine, and her niece, Jean R. Guilmartin of Lexington and many Great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held At Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Road Lexington on Wednesday December 10th at 11AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend . In Lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the above named Church. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery in Lexington.
