Reece, Marjorie, SGM, 96, of Lexington, MA, died on Sept. 6, 2009 at Maristhill Nursing and Rehab. Center, Waltham, MA. She was the daughter of Marsden Reece and Rose Leonard of Boston, MA. Sr. Reece made her profession with the Sisters of Charity of Montreal, "Grey Nuns" in 1937. In 1945, she received her R.N. degree from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Nashua, NH, where she began her nursing ministry. At Holy Ghost Hospital (now Youville Hospital) in Cambridge Sr. Reece continued in nursing services. In 1952, Sr. Reece became Assistant Mistress at the Novitiate and then Mistress of Novices, a position she held for 12 years. Sr. Reece served in many other ministries of the Congregation at the Provincial House in Lexington, now Youville Place Assisted Living Residence. For 13 years Sr. Reece served in pastoral care and as a volunteer at Youville Hospital in Cambridge, delivering spiritual care to many patients. She will be remembered lovingly for her eternal optimism, cheerfulness and generosity of spirit. Sr. Reece leaves behind her cousin Mrs. John Reilly of Norwell, MA, and many dear friends. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday sept. 14 at Youville Place Chapel, 10 Pelham Rd. Lexington at 12:15pm. Visitation Monday prior to Mass 9:30 - 10:45 AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
