Mark Conway of Lincoln, Mass. passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, due to an unexpected medical event at the age of 70. Mark was born in Lexington to the late James and Mary Conway. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Mary Scatamacchia, his children James and Ciara Conway, his sister, Sue Conway, and his beloved dog, Cassie.

Mark attended Lexington Academy of the Holy Family, Lexington High School and was a graduate of Merrimack College. A lifelong learner, Mark went on to earn a master's degree in international relations at Tufts University's Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, a master's in technology, strategy and policy from Boston University, and a master's in education from Northeastern University.

Mark had a 30+ year career in the technology sector leading industry-academic alliances and corporate social responsibility programs for major companies, including Digital Equipment, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Hyperion Solutions and NetApp.

Despite his many academic and professional accomplishments, Mark was most committed to his role as a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. Mark was known for his love of life, magnetic personality and creative sense of humor. He made friends no matter the room he was in.

He loved to travel, with a particular fondness for his family trips to Italy. He spent years learning Italian and was known to practice it any time he stepped foot in a local Italian restaurant. He also enjoyed his annual, extended vacations on Martha's Vineyard with family and friends.

He was an outdoorsman, a lover of music, a committed New England sports fan, a voracious reader and a stylish dresser.  He will be missed dearly.

Visiting hours will be Monday, April 15 at the Douglass Funeral Home (51 Worthen Rd., Lexington) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A service will be held on Tuesday, April 16 at St. Joseph Church (142 Lincoln Rd., Lincoln) at 10 a.m. Burial (Lincoln Cemetery) and celebration of life (Pierce House) to follow. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
