Martina M. Andersen

Martina "Marty" M. (McInnis) Andersen, 98, a resident of Lexington, Massachusetts for 67 years, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by her side on January 31, 2022.  Born March 21, 1923 in Boston, the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Lawton) McInnis.  Marty grew up in Dorchester and graduated from the Dorchester High School for Girls in 1940.  In her early career she worked for the U.S. Government and later when her children were older she was employed for many years as a Tax Clerk in the Town of Lexington. Marty loved Lexington, being a homemaker and caring for her family.  Her family has fond memories of her delicious cooking and baking especially at the holidays. She enjoyed creating beautiful arts & crafts, knitting and sewing projects.  Some of her best times were spent traveling with her husband and sisters. She loved the ocean where she had a home in New Seabury on Cape Cod, watching Boston sports, and golfing. Marty was vibrant and active through the last days of her life always interested in the activities of her family.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beloved wife for over 50 years to the late Roy C. Andersen a WWII veteran and Civil Engineer. Devoted mother to son Roy Andersen and his wife Leslie of Connecticut, daughter Lynne (Andersen) Koser and her husband Philip of Lexington and son Paul Andersen and his wife Jill of Methuen. Cherished grandmother to Rachel Weitzman and husband Adam, Hayley Andersen, Caroline Andersen, Matthew Koser, Jacquelyn Koser, Jenna Kelly and her husband Brian. Adored great-grandmother to Samuel, Vail, Meredith and Morgan. She is survived by sister-in-law Rose McInnis, as well as many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her siblings Catherine Campbell, James McInnis, Joseph McInnis, Virginia Seaver, and Frances Donovan.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, February 5th from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Brigid Parish 10:00 AM, 2001 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington.  Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
