DUFFY, Mary Cynthia 83, of Belmont and Hyannis, formerly of Lexington and Watertown, passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer and Alzheimer's Disease, on Jan. 30, 2017. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Norman J Duffy. Born in Boston, MA to the late Otto and Mary Carlson. Devoted mother to Mary Donna Di Lillo and her husband Louis of Beverly, Steven Duffy and his wife Jackie of Sudbury, and David Duffy of Waltham, "Nana" to 6 adoring grandchildren, Anne Di Lillo of NYC, and Katherine Di Lillo of Beverly, Meghan, Ryan and Tim Duffy of Sudbury, and Connor Duffy of Shrewsbury. Dear sister to Patricia Magennis and her husband Joseph of Venice, FL and sister-in-law to the late Mary Elene Shriber and her late husband Emmet "Bill", the late Kathleen Shirley Burke and her late husband Edwin and his wife Mary of FL, the late James Duffy and his wife Pamela of Belmont, the late Marie Barry and her late husband the Hon. John A. Barry of Pittsfield, the late Harvey Duffy and his wife Joan of Lexington, the late Edmund Duffy and his late wife Joan of Woburn and Robert Duffy and his wife Natalie of Weston.  She was loved by many nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews. After graduating from Practical Arts High School in Boston in 1951, she worked at New England Mutual Insurance as an interior office space designer until the birth of her first child.  Cynthia was a talented painter, loved to summer on Cape Cod, enjoyed shopping, traveling and a good party, and she kept an impeccable home. Funeral from the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd., LEXINGTON, on Feb. 4, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Parish, 16 Follen Rd., Lexington, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives & friends are kindly invited to attend.
