Ketcham, Mary Cecilia (Wallace) Passed away on May 8, 2015 at the Meadow Green Nursing Center in Waltham. She was 94 years old.

Born on November 11, 1920, in Brooklyn, New York, Cecilia, as she was known throughout her life, was the daughter of Mary Billings Wallace and William Joseph Wallace and the sister of William J. Wallace, Jr. She graduated from Manual Training High School in Brooklyn at the age of 15. Her early career included federal civil service with the Collector of Internal Revenue, the U.S. Attorney and the FBI in New York. In 1949 she married Robert Harold Walker of Austin, Pennsylvania and moved to New Jersey, where she worked as a legal secretary in Glen Gardner and then as the Supervisor of the Hunterdon County Board of Elections in Flemington, where her daughter Melinda Mary Walker was born. Widowed in 1974, Cecilia married David Kingsley Ketcham in 1976 and moved to Trumansburg, New York. Following Mr. Ketcham's death in 1995 she moved to Lexington to be close to her daughter's family.

Cecilia was a gifted singer and an avid dancer and traveler. Her quick wit and unpretentious way attracted many friends, whom she amused regularly with her keen, faintly Brooklynese commentary on life's pageant. Cecilia's profound sense of social justice inspired those who loved her.

She is survived by her devoted daughter Melinda Walker, loving son-in-law Mark Bautz and beloved grandson Benjamin Bautz, all of Lexington, and by her nephew Peter Wallace of Tampa, Florida.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, May 30 at 2 PM at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Road, Lexington. Interment will be private.
