Mary Louise McLaughlin of Lexington, MA passed away on January 9, 2025. Beloved daughter of the late William A. McLaughlin and Rose (Melly) McLaughlin. Devoted sister of the late William McLaughlin, Richard McLaughlin, Laurence McLaughlin, Nancy McLaughlin, and Paul McLaughlin.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

After graduating from Lexington high school, Mary Lou went on to St. Elizabeth's Nursing School, and graduated as a Registered Nurse.  Subsequently she joined the US Air Force, and served as an OR nurse throughout the US as well as England,  Germany and the Philippines.  She rose to the rank of Lt. Col and retired after 22 years of service and returned to Lexington to assist with her aging mother.  In her retirement, she volunteered weekly at St. Francis House in Boston and regularly read to the blind.  In her leisure, she enjoyed reading, travel and the arts.  She also enjoyed spending time with family, friends, neighbors and any dog she saw walking past.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday January 17 at Sacred Heart Church, 16 Follen Rd. Lexington at 11am. Visitation at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington,  immediately prior to the Mass, from 9:30am to 11am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Donations in her memory may be made to the Mystic Valley Elder Services,  300 Commercial Street #19, Malden MA 02148. Interment Westview Cemetery, Lexington.
