Maurice H. Connors, M.D. long-time Lexington Resident passed away September 29.   He is survived by his beloved wife MaryAnn with whom he shared a loving and truly wonderful life, five children Michele and her fiancée Chris, Charlie and his wife Kerry, Scott and his wife Erin, James who is both special and unique, and Jeffrey who is a true gift of God to the family. Also survived by two grandsons Austin and Shane of whom he was extremely proud and baby granddaughter to arrive in December.  Also survived by a loving and supportive sister in-law Elaine. He leaves numerous nephews and nieces and their families. He loved them all and was loved in return.  He treasured his many loyal and close friends, especially Jackie and Mark and Betty and Mike. He is predeceased by his brothers Edwin and Charles and by his dear sister in-law Margaret.  He was born in Westerly Rhode Island to Charles and Kathleen Connors.

He was a graduate of Harvard College and Boston University School of Medicine. During his second year of medical school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was commissioned.  Upon completion of his medical training, he was assigned to the First Marine Brigade part of Fleet Marine Force Pacific First as a Battalion Medical Officer then Commanding Officer of a mobile medical company and finally Regimented Surgeon.  He loved the Navy and had great respect for the United States Marine Corp.  Following completion of his military service, he began a fifty-year Primary Care practice in Somerville.   He was board certified in Family Medicine and a member of the American Medical Association, the Massachusetts Medical Society and American Academy of Family Physicians. He served two terms as President of the Somerville Medical Staff and also served on the Medical Staff of Cambridge Health Alliance Mt. Auburn and St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.   An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of the Lexington Golf Club where he spent many happy days with good friends. He enjoyed time with family and friends particularly time spent at the family cottage in Weekapaug, RI.  He was also a long-time member of the Harvard Club of Boston and Rhode Island.

A funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Lexington on Saturday, October 6 at 10:30 am.
