Michael D. Evans was an innovator, brilliant scientist and engineer, beloved husband to Stacey Evans and loving father to sons David Evans and Brian S. Evans.

He was a senior scientist and engineer at both large and small corporations, and a founder of businesses that specialized in telecommunications, biotech, and nanotech. His strategic guidance, provided through his consulting company, allowed businesses to bring their prototypes from concept to marketable product.

A patriot and visionary, he contributed his unique insight and expertise in communications and the defense industry to protect his country and build a better today, while inventing a brighter tomorrow.

Born December 1959, he grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, the 2nd oldest of 5, where he was an honors student, drum major, and played tuba and jazz piano. He went on to graduate from Columbia University with a PhD in Metallurgical Science and Engineering.

He loved to travel the world with his family, and enjoyed relaxing on Caribbean beaches, going on an African safari, visiting the Pyramids of Egypt and the Great Wall of China, exploring Italy, and dining on local cuisines and fine wines.

He passed away November 19, 2022. He was 62. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Sunday, December 11th at 11:30am at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Michael Evans to The Patriot Fund, Inc. or Cradles to Crayons.
