Michael Robert Gauthier, of Lexington, Massachusetts, passed away on the evening of December 17, 2015 after battling cancer for several years. Mike was born March 17, 1956 in Pompton Plains, New Jersey to the late George "Ed" Gauthier and Marie O'Brien.
Mike is survived by his wife, Valerie Upham; his mother, Marie O'Brien of Eliot, Maine; a sister, Denise Gauthier of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a brother, Joseph Gauthier of Huntsville, Alabama; his sons, Nick of Arlington and his wife, Laura and Marc of Lexington; and his daughters, Catherine and her husband, Henry, of Waltham and Claire of Concord.
Mike was a graduate of Connecticut College and of MIT's Sloan School of Management. He was the founder of PeerEngage, a digital marketing business. In his earlier career, Mike served as president of MGA Software and the founder of several start-up companies.
Mike embraced life. He was a devoted father, a hardworking entrepreneur and a loving husband. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and camping, good food, a good book and most of all, spending time with his four children. He was a brave and honest man with a great sense a humor. There is now an empty space in all the lives he touched. He will be sincerely missed.
Join us in celebrating and remembering Mike's life. December 28th, a memorial service will be held in his honor at Follen Community Church in Lexington at 10:00AM. Following the service, Michael will be buried at Westview cemetery in Lexington. A reception will then be held at Follen Community Church.
