Sweeney, Nancy J., 73, passed away January 24, 2010 in The Villages, FL. She was born in Boston, MA and came to The Villages in 1999 from Lexington, MA. She was a homemaker and attended St. Timothy Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Sweeney of the Villages; daughters Debbie Spencer of Bedford, MA, Sandy James of Stow, MA, and Julie Iannone of The Villages; sons Charlie Sweeney III of Burlington, MA; and Dan Sweeney of Groton, MA; brother William Golden of Millinockette, ME; and sister Margie Dew of Franklin, TN; along with ten grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. Calling Hours will be held at the Douglass Funeral Home, 51 Worthen Rd. Lexington Monday Feb. 1 from 5-8 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Tuesday Feb. 2 at St. Brigid Church, 2001 Mass. Ave. Lexington at 10am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be given to The Villagers for Hospice, 801 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162 or Special Olympics Florida, 1105 Citrus Tower Blvd., Clermont, FL 34711.
