DUFFY, Norman Joseph 85, of Belmont and Hyannis, formerly of Lexington & Watertown, passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, on Oct. 27, 2014. Beloved husband of Mary Cynthia (Carlson) for 56 years. Born in Watertown to the late Peter D. Duffy & Florence H. (McNally). Devoted father to Mary Donna Di Lillo & her husband Louis of Beverly, Steven Duffy & his wife Jackie of Sudbury, & David Duffy of Waltham, "Papa" to 6 adoring grandchildren, Anne Di Lillo of NYC, & Katherine Di Lillo of Beverly, Meghan, Ryan & Tim Duffy of Sudbury, & Connor Duffy of Shrewsbury. Dear brother to the late Mary Elene Shriber & her late husband Emmet "Bill", the late Kathleen Shirley Burke & her late husband Edwin & his wife Mary of FL, the late James Duffy & his wife Pamela of Belmont, Marie Barry & her late husband the Hon. John A. Barry of Pittsfield, the late Harvey Duffy & his wife Joan of Lexington, the late Edmund & his late wife Joan & Robert Duffy & his wife Natalie of Weston, He was loved by many nieces & nephews, as well as grand nieces & nephews. After graduating from St. Patricks High School in Watertown in 1949, he served in the US Army & was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. In 1963 he & his brothers founded Duffy Brothers Construction, now Duffy Properties in Waltham. Norman was an avid reader, loved to summer on Cape Cod, play golf & walk.
